About AI Food Focus

AI Food Focus was created by me, Alex Everitt, to help people working in the food industry better understand and make sense of AI.

My background

My background is in building software products across a range of industries, where I've worked on developing solutions and providing technical support in a variety of environments. More recently, that experience has led me to focus on building products where AI plays a central role.

Through this work, I've been involved in a variety of AI projects, from automation and data analysis through to systems that can generate and organise information. For many people, that kind of language can feel unclear or overly technical, and that is exactly the problem.

To make good use of AI, you don't need to become an expert. But you do need a clear understanding of what it is, what it can do, and where the risks are. Without that, it is difficult to know where it fits or how it can be used in a practical way.

That is why this site exists.

Working alongside the food industry

While I don't work directly within a food business day to day, I've spent years working alongside the industry. That has given me a good view of how things actually operate behind the scenes, the systems in place, and the real challenges people face.

One thing that stands out is that, compared to industries like finance, legal, or retail, the food sector has not always had the same level of access to simple, practical technology. At the same time, the expectations and responsibilities placed on the industry are just as high, if not higher.

AI has the potential to help bridge that gap, but only if it is understood and used in the right way.

The aim of this site

There is a lot of noise around AI, and much of it is either overly technical or unrealistic. That makes it harder for people to see what is actually useful and where it can genuinely help.

The aim of AI Food Focus is simple: to provide clear, practical information that helps you understand AI without the jargon or hype.

This site is not about selling services or pushing products. It is about giving you the knowledge to make informed decisions, ask the right questions, and feel more confident about where AI fits into your work.
